Pure Coincidence - Matching Fesitvals In Switzerland, Nevada

We attended Sechseläuten in Zurich, Switzerland this year and totally enjoyed the strange, Swiss Groundhog Day-type festival where they burned a huge wooden snowman symbolizing the end of winter and the coming of spring.

Then today, we saw this article on a similar festival in Nevada "Burning Man Festival". Apparently, a local artist decided to start the festivities a tad early this year.

And here we thought it was strange and a little creepy that we'd seen one festival this year where the main attraction was burning a human effigy -- now we know of two!

Seriously though, we do think it most likely was a real person up there at one time back in the day. Yikes!

PS. Yes, that is 'brown face' on the Swiss paraders -- so PC.
