News - WWII Pilot Found On Glacier
Way interesting news -- hikers in Kings Canyon National Park, outside Fresno, found the body of a WWII pilot frozen high in the Sierra Nevadas. How amazing is that? The military believes it can identify the man, the second found in the area where not more than 100 feet away another pilot was found in 2005, as the second member of the crew of a plane that crashed in a blizzard on November 18, 1942 (our birthday!)
The snow pack this year was about 60% less than normal. Basically, Global Warming is uncovering the past for us. Still...
We hope that he is identified and that it brings closure for his family after so many years.
PS. The picture is of a parachute found in the area, wedged between rocks.
