Perez Hilton Slammed By Fans For Supporting Sarah Silverman

Star gossip blogger, Perez Hilton, was slammed yesterday for supporting the crass, low-blow humor of Z-list comedienne, Sarah Silverman.

An astounding 1599 comments on the celeb blogger's site were overwhelmingly negative towards Silverman and Perez for highlighting Silverman's cruel bashing of Britney Spears after Spears' performance at the VMAs on Sunday.

"If you do appreciate Sarah Silverman’s humour for the lobotomized maybe there is no help for you. Real satire requires one to think, Silverman’s humour rarely requires this." -- Comment from Jeff

"Dear Perez, I cannot believe a fat slob like yourself would have the audacity to criticize Britney the way you did. Have you forgotten everything she’s done for pop music. She’s had two children, obviously her anatomy has changed–give the mother a break. I think you definitely went over the edge with your letter to Britney..." -- Comment from Ex-Perez Fan

Most of the other comments were much like Ms. Silverman's routine, too profane or obscene for our blog.

Perez has posted almost nonstop about the popstar since her performance at the ceremony, cursing at her and criticizing her weight. Silverman referred to Spears' two toddlers as "mistakes."

We usually love Perez (as should be obvious) sans the gross comments or drawings, but he's sinking fast with this stuff. Most of his fans are women and really don't need to be more body dysmorphic than they already are.

PS. We thought Britney (unlike Ms. Silverman) looked lovely whether the routine was her usual caliber or not.

In-Flight Wireless Internet

United Airlines is the first US airline to "win Federal Aviation Administration approval to equip its planes with technology that provides Wi-Fi, a short-range signal used for connecting laptop computers to the Internet." So far, approval is only for their B757-200 aircraft but they plan to extend capability to all their planes.

American Airlines is said to be in a similar planning phase. German airline Lufthansa (I love saying that word!) is already Wi-Fi equipped. One of our favorites, Virgin Atlantic, will get on board soon too (although they already have the best entertainment options of any airline we've been on;) the airline says that Wi-Fi will be "commonplace" on its flights within the next five years. Woo!

We're so stoked. Read this. Gone are the days of misery during a five-hour flight where an uncomfortable half-nap on a stranger and a cheesy menu of in-flight movies are the best options for entertainment.

"Wireless crapability, that speaks for itself." - Gob, Arrested Development

eBay Offers Free Packaging For USPS Shipments

Ebay has added the option of ordering free co-branded boxes -- for your USPS orders -- shipped directly to your house. You can get all sorts of sizes in groups of 10 or 25.

We're thinking that's pretty convenient and for our smaller items we'll most likely be selling on eBay rather than Craigslist at least for this month while it's free.

PS. We just found out that the listing fee is free when you order a gallery photo. Meh. Still...

eBay - No Fees For September

Online megastore, eBay, is offering a "No Listing Fees" deal throughout the month of September for auctions that have a starting bid price of $9.99 or less. So price 'em low and see 'em go!

We're definitely going to be taking advantage of that and start clearing out the loft full of junk.

Farkers Should Be Weeded From The Gene Pool

If you've ever read the comments -- or even the headlines -- on Fark, you'll know (unless you're one of them) that the forum trolls on that site are among the worst on the planet.

We cite this new article on a rapist. Note the rape victim who posted and was then flamed by all the soulless misogynistic losers.

This sickens us.

Guild Wars: "Eye of the North" Debuts

PC MMORPG giant Guild Wars is set to release Eye of the North, the fourth purchasable installment since its inception, on August 31st.

We were a World of Warcraft devotee since we own a Mac, but this video introducing the Scandinavian-esque 'Norn' looks pretty darn fun (We love Norse legends!) Not quite as well crafted as Warcraft -- and it's a little more cutesy -- but still fun.

The best part of Guild Wars -- no monthly subscription fees!

PS. Have you played Guild Wars? Will you buy the expansion? How is it rating on your scale? Let us know!

Websites We Love: YTMND.com

What do you get when you take a short video clip or picture, a sound bite, and a catch phrase, and loop it to replay indefinitely?

The huge internet geek-franchise: You're The Man Now Dog.

It started with a Sean Connery line from Finding Forrester, but our favorites are the classic Batman "Ualueualueualue" and "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah" (above) from the infamous appearance in which he introduced the world to his love for Katie Holmes.

If you're familiar with the site already, what are your faves?

Where the Hell is Matt?

We jumped on this bandwagon a tad late -- but we love this guy's website so much that we had to post about it.

Who'd have thunk filming yourself dancing on vacation would make such a splash all over the world, or be so meaningful?

Our favorite part on the site is the outtakes video -- when he's dancing in Rwanda with all the kids less than a decade after the genocide that happened...it's really amazing.

Listen to him talk in the About Matt section too. He's smart and has a lot to say about being a video game developer.

PS. He's recently added fan videos -- we particularly enjoyed the World of Warcraft one.

MySpace is Trashy

So yes, this isn't exactly news but we've just updated our totally old MySpace account and within the space of a day we've gotten messages and friend requests from: two nude 'models', two spamming musicians, a t-shirt company, and some girl who wanted us to 'check out getfreestuff.net' -- oh, but only after she asked how our weekend was going.

We're listed on there for networking purposes but MySpace doesn't seem so much like a networking opportunity as it does an opportunity for every nut out there to inundate us with spam.

Meh. We'll leave it up for now...but it's coming down from our linked site list.
